Although the government of Grenada defined PPP projects as key to stimulating the economy, the capacity within the government to prepare and implement projects remains low.
Having no prior PPP experience, Grenada implemented projects with private participation in the energy and telecom sectors. Currently, the government is looking to develop a number of projects via PPP, including a hospital and a national heritage site. In July 2014 the government passed a PPP policy, and it is considering the enactment of a PPP law.
